From Simple Beginnings

 

Mark grew up in rural Marathon County, surrounded by farming families who taught him the value of hard work, responsibility, and community. On his mother’s side, three generations of dairy farmers showed him firsthand how unpredictable markets, rising costs, and weather can make or break a family’s livelihood. That upbringing gave Mark a deep respect for rural Wisconsin and a practical understanding of how economic decisions in Washington hit home.

Growing up in rural Wisconsin gave Mark an appreciation for the simple things in life and the value of hard work. He worked his way through high school and college, scrubbing toilets, delivering milk, and learning to cook in a family restaurant.

The first in his family to graduate from a 4-year college, Mark earned his degree in Education from Lawrence University and began his career as a public school teacher and union member.

Like many other residents of Northeast Wisconsin, Mark was a successful entrepreneur and business owner. His career path brought him to the field of sustainable wealth management where his team created more than $100 million of growth and income for families, businesses and nonprofits across the region.
